This group received a loan at the beginning of the year. The women live and work in the province of Homa Bay and repay their loan on time every month. They have been able to significantly improve their economic situation. The chairlady of the group writes to us as follows: ‘Since we received the 150000 Ksh, we have been able to make significant progress in the implementation of the goat farming project. We have invested in the purchase of high quality goat breeds to build a resilient base herd for our project. We have managed to acquire 40 herds for Ksh 120000 to complement our original 10 herds. We are pleased with the positive growth, especially the addition of 8 newborns to the herd.
In addition to the above investments, we have also incurred various operational expenses that are essential for the successful management of the goat breeding project. These expenditures included the procurement of 40 tethering ropes at a cost of Ksh.1500. We also invested in pesticides (Triatix at a cost of Ksh. 500) for pest control to ensure the wellbeing and health of our animals.
