100 Euros for a better life
Microcredit projects are about more than just financial assistance. The borrowers*, mainly women, learn not only accounting, calculation, marketing, administration and organisation, but also team spirit, participatory decision-making and other skills. Our self-organised women’s groups are led and managed by a local religious sister or brother. An important principle in the allocation of loans at STARTHILFEKENIA is the formation of groups of like-minded people. The members of these communities support and vouch for each other. The repaid loans can then be given to new groups. By creating income-generating measures for women, we also want to help empower them in Kenyan society.

About us
Based in Düsseldorf, our team is a division of the non-profit organisation vision:teilen, a Franciscan initiative against poverty and need. In 2012 we established ourselves as a separate group within the association, and since 2013 we have supported a number of women’s groups in East Africa through microcredit. In addition to granting credit, we provide assistance to the groups in the form of training for the commercial sector, in skills such as accounting, calculation, marketing, marketing, organisation, and other relevant disciplines. Our motto is Help for Self-Help.
