The Villa Gardens women’s group was officially registered as a self-help group in 2018. This group is located in the Migori district. The group is made up of women of different ages. All members have known each other for many years and have been in our project since 2020. They have been able to significantly improve their economic situation since then and have twice been recognised as the best group. Some are widowed and have taken on the responsibility of providing for their families. All the women run their businesses in the town of Awendo and in the centre of Rapogi and are mainly involved in trading in cereals, vegetables, tomatoes, silverfish and fruit.
