STAGE VIEW GROUP ‐ Five women with responsibility

The Stage View women’s group is located in the district of Bomet. These women came up with the Stage View name because they all had their shops in the new Bomet Matatu (local transport minibus) station. The group was officially registered as a self-help group in 2017.

The group is made up of women of different ages. Some of the 15 members are married and still with their husbands, while others are single mothers. Only five of them applied for a STARTHILFEKENIA loan, because the other members were servicing loans from other sources. These five took responsibility and guaranteed that the group would repay the loan – which they did. The women run all their various businesses in the town of Bomet, coordinated by Sister Maria Immaculata. The five members who took the initiative of applying for a loan run a beauty salon, a boutique and a grain shop.
